MYAM is a ministry of the Marist Brothers Province of New Zealand . Traditionally Marist Brothers have worked among young people in education, but in recent years they have moved into other areas of ministry with young people (see maristbrothers.org.nz for more information).
MYAM was born out of the concern that Marist Brothers can so easily lose touch with young people after they leave college. MYAM's aim is to make and maintain contact with young people, namely young adults from Marist schools and the wider community.
We make and maintain contact with young people in various ways. Our main forms are by having monthly Grove Dinners, our annual cocktail party, a quarterly newsletter and weekly reflective emails. Hospitality is a very important feature for us so there are a fair number of young adults coming and going — for coffee or meals or just a chat, or all three!!
